Amid divorce reports surrounding Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, here’s a look inside all the times fans think Kim should have left the rapper.
Amid heightened speculation surrounding Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s impending divorce, fans are calling out all the times the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star should have left the rap/fashion mogul. Here’s a look back at the times Kanye showed Kim their marriage was doomed. As it turns out, there were many red flags.
Insiders have claimed Kanye’s 2020 run for president was the final straw for Kim. It was on the Fourth of July when Kanye announced his campaign on Twitter. While many thought he was joking at the time, he followed up his claims with an August rally in South Carolina where he became emotional while divulging some very private information about his wife and their first pregnancy. “So even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to,” the Yeezy founder said while discussing the topic of abortion. “She stood up and she protected that child.” The move upset his wife and put the two in a rough spot that was captured by paparazzi. Photos surfaced of the superstar couple arguing inside of their car with tears streaming down Kim’s face. While divorce rumors lingered, Kim remained by her husband’s side. However, fans did notice that the KKW Beauty founder never showed any public support for her husband’s campaign. After the loss, fans even allegedly caught her liking a tweet that showed support for the new President Joe Biden.

But, Kanye’s bid for the presidency wasn’t the first time he caused a rift in his marriage. Fans can recall a number of times when he showed a divide from his wife. Shortly after he announced his campaign, trouble in paradise became clear when he went on a Twitter rampage against his wife and mother-in-law Kris Jenner. “Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor,” he said in a since-deleted tweet captured by NBC. “Kriss [sic] and Kim call me now,” he added while sharing a screenshot of a text message he allegedly sent to Kris. “This is Ye,” his text to Kris read. “You ready to talk now or are you still avoiding my calls [?]” He went on to claim that, “Everybody knows the movie get out is about me.” While Kim and Kris remained silent at the time, many thought the Twitter rant alone was enough to make Kim file for divorce. But, she didn’t.
Kanye also had controversial public meetings with Donald Trump that Kim didn’t attend. Following Trump’s 2016 election win, Kanye met with him at the Trump Tower in December 2016. He met with him again in 2018 where he wore the MAGA hat and referred to it as his Superman cape. While Kim worked with Trump for prison reform advocacy, she never joined her husband for his controversial meetings with #45. There is another encounter that has turned into a meme that showed the couple seated courtside at the NBA All-Star game in February 2020.
When the cameras got a close-up shot of the couple, Kim goes in for a kiss with Kanye, to which he turns his head the other way. Kim resorted to kissing him on the cheek instead, but the cringy moment gave fans a glimpse into the awkwardness of their romance. It appears the foundation of their relationship was crumbling for quite some time, and now the two might be ready to finally pull the plug.
