Tony Revolori, who plays Flash Thompson in the MCU Spider-Man films, is in talks to join the Disney+ Willow series.
Tony Revolori, who is best known for playing Flash Thompson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man films, is in negotiations to join the cast of Disney+’s Willow.
According to Deadline, Revolori is in talks to portray one of the lead characters. If the discussions work out, Revolori would join a cast that already includes Erin Kellyman (Solo), Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals), Cailee Spaeny (The Craft: Legacy) and original Willow star Warwick Davis.
Leaked casting information suggests that the sequel series will follow a group that sets out to save a kidnapped prince. The team includes Dove (Bamber), a kitchen maid who proved that she is “the chosen one,” Kit (Spaeny), the twin sister of the prince who was captured and Jade (Kellyman), Kit’s best friend and moral compass. While his character details remain under wraps, there is speculation that Revolori is playing Boorman, a thief and liar who agrees to help the group on their quest in order to get out of prison.

The series’ pilot will be written by Jonathan Kasdan, who will also serve as co-showrunner with Wendy Mericle. The original film’s director Ron Howard, Kathleen Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan are on board as executive producers, while the movie’s original writer Bob Dolman will be a consulting producer. Filming is expected to take place in Wales, where much of the 1988 film was shot.
Director Jon M. Chu, who helmed G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians and the upcoming In the Heights, was expected to direct the series. However, he had to drop out of the project due to family obligations and COVID-19 restrictions.
“I’m heartbroken to let you all know that I unfortunately have to step away from directing Willow,” Chu said at the time. “With the production schedule moving due to continued [coronavirus(COVID-19)] lockdowns in the UK, and with a new baby coming this summer (surprise!), the timing is just not going to work for me and my family.”
Revolori has appeared in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He will reprise his role in the upcoming untitled Spider-Man 3,
Disney+’s Willow stars Warwick Davis, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber and Cailee Spaeny. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.
