Director Jon M. Chu, who helmed G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians and the upcoming In the Heights, was expected to direct the series. However, he had to drop out of the project due to family obligations and COVID-19 restrictions.

“I’m heartbroken to let you all know that I unfortunately have to step away from directing Willow,” Chu said at the time. “With the production schedule moving due to continued [coronavirus(COVID-19)] lockdowns in the UK, and with a new baby coming this summer (surprise!), the timing is just not going to work for me and my family.”

Revolori has appeared in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He will reprise his role in the upcoming untitled Spider-Man 3,

Disney+’s Willow stars Warwick Davis, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber and Cailee Spaeny. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.
