The CW has revealed the synopsis for the upcoming fifth episode of Riverdale Season 5, “Chapter Eighty-One: The Homecoming.”

The CW has revealed the official synopsis for Riverdale Season 5’s upcoming fifth episode, “Chapter Eighty-One: The Homecoming,” which is set to air on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Following the seven-year time jump in Feb. 10’s “Chapter Eighty: Purgatorio,” “The Homecoming” finds Riverdale High in a bad way, with Hiram Lodge’s budget cuts threatening to shut the school down. In response, Archie Andrews, Toni Topaz, Kevin Keller and Alice Smith leap into action.

Meanwhile, Jughead Jones starts a new job after debt collectors arrive in Riverdale, which is but a shell of its former self following Hiram’s takeover. Finally, Veronica Lodge finds a creative solution when she learns that her husband Chad Gekko, a businessman played by guest star Chris Mason, is having her followed. Chad previously appeared on the spinoff series Katy Keene, where he was played by Reid Prebenda.

THE FIGHT FOR RIVERDALE HIGH — Toni (Vanessa Morgan), Alice (Mädchen Amick), Archie (KJ Apa) and Kevin (Casey Cott) fight to keep Riverdale High’s doors open after learning that its budget had been cut by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos). Veronica (Camila Mendes) gets creative when she discovers Chad (guest star Chris Mason) is having her followed. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) starts a new job after debt collectors show up in Riverdale. Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch, Charles Melton, Drew Ray Tanner and Erinn Westbrook also star. Steve Adelson directed the episode written by Michael Grassi (#505). Original airdate 2/17/2021.
