A new report suggests Jason Momoa may wind up voicing Knuckles the Echidna in the Sonic the Hedgehog sequel.
According to The Illuminerdi, Paramount Pictures has officially offered the role to the Aquaman star, who has yet to accept it. While plot details for the sequel remain scarce, both Knuckles and Sonic’s sidekick Tails are expected to play a major role in its events.
In the Sonic the Hedgehog games, Knuckles serves as the guardian of the Master Emerald — a gigantic gem that serves as the counter to the Chaos Emeralds. Knuckles has been both rival and friend to Sonic and is known for his immense strength and fighting skills, as well as his stoic personality. Paramount was previously looking for a voice actor for Knuckles that was “serious in nature, but still gullible at times.”
