Invincible creator Robert Kirkman plans to give fans more of a certain side character in Season 2 of the hit animated series.
Invincible series creator Robert Kirkman promises more of a furry fan-favorite villain for the upcoming season 2 of the hit Amazon show based on his comic of the same name.
Battle Beast, who made a big impression in his quick appearance during an Episode 5 fight, will be back. “The major change to the Battle Beast storyline would be more Battle Beast in the show than in the comics,” Kirkman said in an interview with Inverse about the future of the series. Battle Beast is known as Thokk in the comics and has a fairly short arc, but Kirkman is aware of the impact the capable fighter made there and on the show.

Kirkman seems to know that brevity is another strength of the character too. “Not too much because a little Battle Beast goes a long way, but it’s a character that I love as much as the fanbase loves him. So I would expect more Battle Beast.” In the final moments of Episode 8, there is a quick shot of Battle Beast as well, so it’s clear there will be more of the evil killer cat. Amazon has renewed the show for two additional seasons.
Invincible stars Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Khary Payton, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder. The series is produced by Skybound, and executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert and Catherine Winder. The first season is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
