Ben Mendelsohn is the latest Rogue One: A Star Wars Story alum to reportedly join the cast of the Cassian Andor Disney+ series.

Another Rogue One: A Star Wars Story alum may be joining the cast of Disney+’s Andor.

According to The Direct, Ben Mendelsohn will return as Orson Krennic in an unknown capacity for the Cassian Andor prequel series. In Rogue One, Krennic is the director of advanced weapons research for the Galactic Empire and oversaw the construction of the first Death Star.

Mendelsohn joins fellow Rogue One cast members Forest Whitaker and Genevieve O’Reilly, who will reprise their roles as Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma from the film, respectively. Of course, Diego Luna is also returning as the titular Cassian Andor. They join Chernobyl‘s Robert Emms, who recently joined the cast. There are also reports that Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi will make an appearance.

Andor is one of the many Star Wars projects Lucasfilm has in the pipeline. On the live-action TV side, the studio is currently filming The Book of Boba Fett and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and is developing Ahsoka and the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian. The mysterious series The Acolyte and Lando are also in pre-production. Lucasfilm is also working on the animated series Star Wars: Visions and A Droid Story. The previously announced Rangers of the New Republic series is no longer in active development.

Lucasfilm also has major plans for the big screen. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is helming Rogue Squadron, set to premiere in December 2023, while Rian Johnson, Taika Waititi and Kevin Feige are each working on their own stories in the galaxy far, far away.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, with a  screenplay by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy, and a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic, Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe, Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, Riz Ahmed as Bodhi Rook, Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. The movie is now streaming on Disney+.

Disney+’s Andor stars Diego Luna, Adria Arjona, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller Robert Emms and and Forest Whitaker. The series arrives on Disney+ in 2022.
